Our Passions
We are a community of believers marked by our passionate embrace of four key biblical, spiritual truths. These are the four “legs” upon which our community table stands. We are . . .
1. King & Kingdom Focused
The Kingdom of God is a present, unfolding, expanding reality on Earth here and now; and Jesus is actively ruling as King.
The resurrected Jesus sent His disciples into the world with the assurance that “all authority in Heaven and on Earth” had been given to Him. (Matt. 28:18)
According to Ephesians 1:19-23, Jesus:
- Is seated in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. (v.20)
- Is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come. (v.21)
- God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. (v.22)
Colossians 1:13 declares that God has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into “the Kingdom of his dear Son.
According to Isaiah 9:7, His government will never stop increasing. Indeed, Jesus said the Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed—it starts out tiny but grows bigger and bigger until it’s the biggest tree in the garden.
We pray, “on Earth as in Heaven.” (Matt. 6:10)
2. Holy Spirit Animated
God the Holy Spirit has been poured out to reside in and upon willing believers, having been sent by Jesus when He sat down at the right hand of the Father in Heaven.
The Holy Spirit:
- Is the primary agent of the Godhead operating on Earth in this era.
- Distributes gifts to individuals for the benefit of all.
- Empowers; equips; leads; reveals; comforts and draws.
His presence in and upon a believer naturally produces fruit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, etc.)
He is the source of miracle power and His presence in the midst of His people can and should result routinely in the manifestation of spiritual gifts and in miracles.
We trust Him completely and joyfully yield ourselves to Him. We cultivate a sensitivity to His voice and responsiveness to His promptings.
3. Grace Conscious
We rest wholly in the finished work of Christ and celebrate it, having ceased our futile efforts to earn or qualify for God’s acceptance and favor. (Hebrews 4:10-11)
Because we are in Jesus and Jesus is in us, we fully qualify for all the promises of God. We stand in His righteousness, His favor, and His authority. (2 Cor. 1:20)
The gratitude, joy, and adoration this produces in us fuels our worship.
The confidence and boldness this produces in us fuels our faith to receive miracles—for others and for ourselves.
4. Love Driven
Jesus declared that love would be the distinctive mark characterizing His followers. (John 13:35)
We love because He first loved us (1 John 4:19) and because His love has been broadcast throughout our hearts (Romans 5:5).
“. . . that you being rooted and grounded in love . . . “ (Eph. 3:17)
Our complete security and accepted-ness in Him frees us to be others-focused, unselfish, kind and generous.
